100 Acts of Service

Giving back to our communities is near and dear to us. Whether we are helping homeless veterans or reading to children, PPL employees can be found working in the community in countless ways. We’ll be tracking the ways we give back to the community throughout the year in this gallery, so check back often.

PPL’s Team Kilowatt was at Da Vinci Science Center’s Ice Cream Wars to teach kids about science in a sweet way.

Kindness and respect were the lessons of the day at Fountain Hill Elementary in Bethlehem where PPL volunteers teamed up with Moravian College basketball players to honor the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by sharing stories and doing activities with students in grades K - 5.

PPL employees volunteered as judges for a Rube Goldberg Machines contest. Fourth grade students in the Allentown School District were challenged to create a machine to trap a mouse.

Volunteers from PPL Electric Utilities’ Service Center in Montoursville volunteered recently at the Lycoming County United Way. In two hours, our team labeled 300 books that will go to underprivileged youth in the county, as part of the United’s Way’s Spread the Love of Reading program. Staff wrote inspirational quotes on the inside cover of the books about the value of reading.

PPL employees volunteered to serve as judges for the Feb. 20 regional Governor’s Pennsylvania STEM Competition held at Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 in Easton.
