Appliance Recycling Program Receives Federal Recognition
PPL Electric’s long-standing appliance recycling program has a positive impact on the environment, helping customers reduce emissions and save energy.
Getting ready for a renewable energy future
PPL Electric is not only making it easier for them to connect to the grid, we are continuously pushing the envelope and bolstering our distribution system for a distributed energy resources-enabled smart grid future.
Powering pollinator research
Birds do it and bees do it. Oh, and butterflies, too. Pollination that is. We’re helping provide pollinator-friendly habitats and protect our power lines at the same time.
Delivering reliable power – responsibly
Scott Straight is pretty proud — and for good reason. In 2016, the then director of Project Engineering at LG&E and KU oversaw the final stages of a multi-year, $2.8 billion construction project to add environmental controls to four of the company’s coal-fired power plants to further reduce emissions and improve operations.
Providing safe habitats
To help the birds and ensure their customers continue to have excellent and reliable service, PPL Electric, LG&E and KU, and WPD have all installed platforms in their service territories to provide safe locations for ospreys to nest. It’s part of the company’s continued commitment to conservation.
