PPL Hosts Inaugural Innovation Summit

PPL Corporation brought together leading technology innovators and research partners in November at an innovation summit in Lexington, Kentucky designed to accelerate progress toward building its energy utilities of the future. 

The summit highlighted PPL’s commitment to shaping the future of the energy industry through advanced technology, artificial intelligence and strategic partnerships. Attendees heard from senior PPL officials, leading technology firms and exhibitors about initiatives to strengthen grid resilience to improve service and protect against severe weather, advance a cleaner energy future, and support America’s growing data center demand – all while keeping affordability for customers front and center. 

PPL has already built one of the nation’s most advanced power grids in Pennsylvania and continues to explore new opportunities to apply cutting-edge technology across operations, from customer service and vegetation management to weather forecasting and demand-side management. PPL also partners with over 30 organizations on more than 170 research and development initiatives aimed at fueling cleaner energy innovation. 

PPL’s innovation summit featured 45 exhibits that showcased initiatives in grid innovation and field operations, generation and sustainability, customer experience, AI and emerging technologies, and cybersecurity and resilience.
