Contribution to local center will help ensure safety of local LGBT community

PPL Corporation announced on June 13 a contribution to the LGBT center near the corporate headquarters in downtown Allentown in memory of victims of the attack in Orlando.

The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, which recently opened, is the only LGBT center in the Lehigh Valley. The company’s business resource group for LGBT employees is actively involved with the center and uses it as a resource.

As a precautionary measure, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is enhancing security in its building. PPL’s contribution of $6,000 will help the center pay for the security upgrades to ensure the safety of local LGBT community members.

“PPL Corporation is saddened by the recent attack in Orlando. Our company mourns the loss of life and stands with the LGBT community,” said William Spence, PPL chairman, president and Chief Executive Officer. “PPL is proud that our corporate policies are inclusive of the LGBT community. Creating cultures of inclusion is the best way to combat hate. We mourn the loss of life and are recommitted to ensuring an inclusive corporate culture for our LGBT employees and customers.”
