Christopher Kaag, Bright Lights grant recipient, founder and executive director of the IM ABLE Foundation in Berks County, Pa., works to promote active lifestyles for everybody, including people with disabilities and veterans. Funding from the Bright Lights award will be used to sustain no-cost online and in-person fitness and social programs for clients.
For over 13 years, the IM ABLE Foundation has provided grants of adaptive equipment to over 100 individuals with disabilities and launched programs to enable and empower people with disabilities of all kinds. Their mission is to remove obstacles that prevent people affected by disabilities from being physically active by providing grants, resources, fitness opportunities and motivation. They change attitudes about the potential of disabled individuals by redefining what is possible.
“I was surprised and humbled by the overwhelming support of those who joined me to celebrate in the announcement and my receipt of this award. I am thankful for organizations like PPL that provide IM ABLE the ability to continue to redefine what is possible for all our participants,” said Kaag.
