PPL’s Renewable Energy Portfolio
PPL Renewable Energy develops, builds, owns and operates solar, biogas-to-energy, biomass, hydro, wind and cogeneration renewable energy facilities throughout the mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
The company currently owns and operates a total of 40 megawatts of capacity of renewable and clean energy projects, including two projects that have been honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
In addition, PPL has made a 20-year commitment to buy the electricity generated at two wind farms in Pennsylvania and has agreed to buy half of the renewable energy credits produced by a new wind farm in West Virginia. The three projects total 132 megawatts of renewable energy.
