For the seventh consecutive year, PPL Electric Utilities has ranked highest among electric utilities in the eastern United States for residential customer satisfaction in a study by J.D. Power and Associates.
The award is the company’s 14th — more than any other utility in the country — since J.D. Power and Associates began studying customer satisfaction among customers of the nation’s largest electric utilities.
“Our employees work hard to deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity to the communities we serve,” said David G. DeCampli, president of PPL Electric Utilities. “So it means a lot to know that customers have expressed their satisfaction in us.”
DeCampli attributed the company’s unmatched success in the study to the strong performance and dedication of PPL Electric Utilities’ employees, as well as close ties the company has had with eastern and central Pennsylvania communities for more than 80 years.
He said the company has maintained a consistent record of reliability and is investing in improvements to its distribution system, while keeping prices for electric service below the average in Pennsylvania and the Northeast.

PPL Electric Utilities has earned J.D. Power and Associates’ highest honor for residential customer satisfaction in the East eight of the nine years it has been given (tied in 2006). It has also received the highest honor for business customer satisfaction in the East six out of eight years, including 2007 (tied in 2004).
In its 2007 study of residential customer satisfaction, J.D. Power and Associates interviewed about 29,000 customers served by the 76 largest utilities in the nation.
