PPL Gas Utilities has pledged $10,000 to the capital campaign for the Waynesboro Area YMCA to help the organization complete its expansion and renovation.
The Waynesboro YMCA, which has more than 3,400 members, is planning to add a kids zone, teen adventure center and additional multipurpose room; expand the fitness center and child care area; and improve security and accessibility.
“This donation is a symbol of the partnership between PPL Gas Utilities and the communities it serves,” said Mark Eisenried, representative for PPL Gas Utilities. “We are pleased to support the Waynesboro YMCA expansion, which will help meet the growing needs of our community.”
The donation will be made over two years. PPL Gas Utilities will contribute $5,000 now and an additional $5,000 in 2008.
