PPL Reminds Customers to Use Energy Wisely During Hot, Humid Weather

Energy Analyzer at pplelectric.com is ideal tool to save electricity

PPL Electric Utilities is reminding customers that it’s always a good idea to use energy wisely, and that the Energy Analyzer on the company’s Web site is a powerful tool to help customers find ways to reduce their power usage and electricity costs.

“We expect demand to be extremely high during this period of prolonged hot weather,” said David G. DeCampli, president of PPL Electric Utilities. “We urge customers to do what they can to control their consumption on days like this, because by reducing peak demand, we all can do our part to mitigate increases in the average market prices for electricity in our region.”

The regional power pool, the PJM Interconnection, expects to have enough electricity to meet the heavy demand for power, DeCampli said, but is urging the wise use of electricity by customers throughout the Northeast.

The Energy Analyzer is a powerful tool to help customers understand their energy use and learn ways to save electricity and money, DeCampli said. The Energy Analyzer is at www.pplelectric.com.

“It’s during periods of high demand that the money we invest to maintain and improve our electric delivery system really pays off,” DeCampli said.

PPL plans to invest $1.4 billion in the next five years to expand and maintain the electrical system and to improve even further its ability to provide safe and reliable service, he said.

PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, a subsidiary of PPL Corporation that provides electricity delivery services to about 1.4 million customers in Pennsylvania, has consistently ranked among the best companies for customer service in the United States.
