Union Representing Some PPL Gas Utilities Employees Agrees to Contract

The union representing about 85 employees of PPL Gas Utilities in north central and northwestern Pennsylvania has approved a new four-year labor agreement.

"We’re pleased that employees have approved the contract and we can continue our focus on providing safe, reliable natural gas delivery service to our customers," said Robert M. Geneczko, president of PPL Gas Utilities.

Members of Local 2799 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America approved the contract Wednesday evening (6/25). The local represents field workers in the service area of the company’s North Penn Gas affiliate in Bradford, Tioga, Potter, McKean, Forest, Clarion and Venango counties.

PPL Gas Utilities, an affiliate of PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL), provides natural gas delivery service to about 75,000 customers in 34 Pennsylvania counties and a small portion of Maryland.

PPL Corporation, headquartered in Allentown, Pa., controls about 11,500 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States, sells energy in key U.S. markets and delivers electricity to customers in Pennsylvania, the United Kingdom and Latin America.
