Susan M. Stalnecker, vice president-Finance and treasurer of DuPont Corporation, has been named to the PPL Corporation (NYSE: PPL) board of directors.

"We are pleased that we have been able to further strengthen our board of directors through the addition of Susan Stalnecker," said William F. Hecht, PPL chairman, president and CEO. "Susan’s 25 years of experience in a variety of domestic and international finance positions at DuPont make her an excellent choice for our board."

Her election to the board is effective Dec. 1.

Born in Roslyn, N.Y., Stalnecker earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Graduate Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

She has served in her present position at DuPont since 1998. Since joining the company in 1976, she has held a number of positions in DuPont’s financial group. She served for three years as director and treasurer for Conoco (U.K.) Ltd. and was chief financial officer for DuPont’s worldwide nylon business.

Stalnecker, who resides in Delaware, is married and the mother of two children.
