Situation:
PPL crews continue to restore service to customers affected by Tuesday’s (12/12) wind storm. Since 6 a.m. Tuesday, PPL has restored service to 94,000 customers. PPL crews worked through the night. They will be supplemented this afternoon by 35 crews arriving from Hydro Quebec in Canada.

1,400 as of 8 a.m.
Affected Areas:
Honesdale, Bloomsburg, Sunbury

Cause of Outages:
High wind has caused tree limbs and branches to fall into power lines. There are trees on wires, wires down and poles broken.
Est. Restoration Time:
The remaining customers will be back in service by tonight.
Additional Information:
The line crews from Canada will be working in Wayne and Pike counties. PPL has arranged with local volunteers to serve as translators for the French-speaking crews and foremen. For more information, contact Paul Canevari, 570-620-3310.
PPL is monitoring the weather as a snow and ice storm approaches. The storm is expected to arrive tonight. PPL will have crews ready to respond to any customer outages.
