Here is the latest information from PP&L, Inc. on Hurricane Floyd as of 1:30 p.m.:
-- Since the heavy rain began Wednesday evening (9/15), PP&L crews have restored service to about 12,000 customers.
-- As of 1 p.m. Thursday (9/16), 9,200 PP&L customers are without power, most in the Allentown, Bethlehem and Lancaster areas.
-- PP&L continues to respond to power outages with its own crews. As a precaution, PP&L has contacted other electric companies and contractors about the possibility of providing crews to help repair storm damage, if needed.
-- Any PP&L customer who experiences a power outage should call the company's toll-free service number, 1-800-342-5775 (1-800 DIAL PPL) to report the problem.
-- PP&L's storm emergency center in Allentown will remain open until the threat of Floyd has passed.
PP&L will issue periodic storm updates throughout the day and evening.
