PP&L, Inc. is combining the power and speed of its Internet Available Property Locator service with the attraction of Pennsylvania's Keystone Opportunity Zone program to help bring jobs to the state.
"Our economic development Internet site is one of the first to give users the ability to search specifically for industrial and corporate office properties located in Keystone Opportunity Zones," said Donna Buchheit, manager of Economic Development for PP&L, Inc.
PP&L, Inc.'s unique site, at www.ppl-inc.com/econdev, includes listings on nearly 1,000 potential business locations in the company's 29-county electric delivery service area.
Dozens of available sites within Keystone Opportunity Zones can be found with the click of a mouse. Other search criteria include county, property type, rail service, size and ceiling height.
PP&L, Inc.'s Available Property Locator has received thousands of visits from real estate professionals, site selection consultants and business relocation specialists worldwide since it went online in September 1998.
Since PP&L, Inc. introduced its property locator, Pennsylvania finalized its Keystone Opportunity Zone program. The program is designed to stimulate development in designated zones, where state and local governments have agreed to waive virtually all taxes on private investment for up to 12 years.
"PP&L, Inc. is a great proponent of economic development," Buchheit said. "Programs such as Keystone Opportunity Zones can help jump start development. Our Available Property Locator can help make that effort even more effective."
The locator service enables prospects to conduct virtual site inspections 24 hours a day, and provides a link for them to contact a PP&L, Inc. economic development specialists for more details and for comprehensive, confidential site-selection assistance, she added.
Over the past three years, PP&L, Inc. and its economic development partners have helped attract more than 60 new businesses to the region, including some from overseas. Those businesses have created nearly 7,000 new jobs.
