PP&L EnergyPlus Offers New Jersey Deregulation Guide as a Public Service

A comprehensive and easy-to-understand guide to energy deregulation in New Jersey is now available free to all business and commercial electric customers in the Garden State, as a public service from PP&L EnergyPlus.

The guide covers everything a business, commercial, industrial or institutional electric customer needs to know about customer choice in New Jersey. It's in the form of an educational multimedia presentation on a computer CD-ROM.

"This guide cuts through the mystery of deregulation," said Mike Peters, manager of New Jersey energy marketing for PP&L EnergyPlus. "Consider it an almanac of New Jersey customer choice that contains information from a wide range of sources, all pulled together in one easy-to-use package."

The guide provides:

7 The status of deregulation in New Jersey
7 Up-to-date information on electric customer choice in other states, and on the federal level
7 Definitions of sometimes-confusing deregulation terms
7 Links to key Internet resources, including the new New Jersey Energy Choices Web site, the New Jersey Bureau of Public Utilities, electric distribution companies in New Jersey, and the U.S. Department of Energy deregulation site

PP&L EnergyPlus is distributing the free guide as part of the company's commitment to helping customers better understand electric choice.

"PP&L, Inc. has been a leader in promoting customer choice in Pennsylvania and in helping customers understand what can be a complicated topic," said Peters. "PP&L EnergyPlus intends to carry on that tradition as we expand into New Jersey and beyond."
