In a major energy and services agreement, Philadelphia's Fox Chase Cancer Center has chosen PP&L EnergyPlus and PP&L Spectrum to supply its electricity for the next five years, and to provide a variety of energy services over a 10-year period.
The agreement is expected to provide Fox Chase, a leading comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute, significant savings on its energy costs over the next five years. The savings include significantly lower prices for electricity, along with expected savings from energy-efficiency improvements.
"In addition to having a very strong competitive proposal, PP&L EnergyPlus people were knowledgeable and innovative, and were attentive to our individual needs as a customer," said Thomas K. Garvey, vice president of Facilities Planning and Administration. "It's obvious that PP&L EnergyPlus is a well-run organization that is very close to its customers."
PP&L EnergyPlus and PP&L Spectrum are part of the PP&L Resources, Inc., family of companies. PP&L, Inc., has been offering attractive energy prices in eastern and central Pennsylvania for nearly 80 years. The company has a long history of giving businesses the prices and service they need to be competitive, and PP&L EnergyPlus is carrying forward that tradition.
PP&L EnergyPlus is the supplier of choice for many large and small businesses and other major energy users throughout Pennsylvania. Business buying groups — including the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and others representing more than 10,000 area businesses — have picked PP&L EnergyPlus as the best energy supplier for their members.
"This agreement with Fox Chase Cancer Center is an excellent example of how PP&L EnergyPlus can provide major customers with energy and energy services — all bundled into one bill for the customer's convenience," said Larry De Simone, president of PP&L EnergyPlus Co. "Beyond our low price, we can save customers even more money with our package of energy services."
PP&L EnergyPlus is not the same company as PP&L, Inc., the electric distribution company. PP&L EnergyPlus prices are not regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. You do not have to buy electricity or other products from PP&L EnergyPlus to receive the same quality service from PP&L, Inc.
