Central Pennsylvania Energy-Buying Group Endorses PP&L EnergyPlus

PP&L EnergyPlus is offering competitive energy prices to public and private schools, intermediate units, churches, municipalities, libraries, hospitals, fire companies and businesses in a four-county region of central Pennsylvania.

The Central Pennsylvania Energy Utility Consortium, which represents 320 members on energy-purchasing matters, endorsed PP&L EnergyPlus as the preferred electricity supplier for its members.

Consortium members in Dauphin, Cumberland, York and Perry counties could save significant amounts each year in electricity costs. In addition, PP&L EnergyPlus is making available to them other money-saving, energy-related services, such as lighting improvements, energy management, consolidated billing and heating, ventilation and air- conditioning services.

"PP&L EnergyPlus is a sound company that made us feel comfortable about Electric Choice. They offered very competitive, fixed pricing to our members," said Paul Zeigler of Zeigler & Zimmerman P.C., legal counsel for the consortium.

More than a dozen electricity suppliers competed for the Central Pennsylvania Energy Utility Consortium's endorsement.

"PP&L EnergyPlus continues to solidify its position as a premier competitive energy supplier. Customers across Pennsylvania have chosen PP&L EnergyPlus for price, quality of service and our ability to meet their specific energy needs," said Larry De Simone, PP&L EnergyPlus president.

PP&L EnergyPlus has attracted an impressive list of customers from across the state. Here are just a few:

  • The commonwealth of Pennsylvania selected PP&L EnergyPlus as the electricity supplier for nine state agencies, including the 14 universities in the State System of Higher Education.
  • Energy-purchasing organizations representing more than half of the state's school districts and several municipalities endorsed PP&L EnergyPlus as the preferred electricity supplier for their members.
  • The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry picked PP&L EnergyPlus as the preferred supplier for its 5,800 members statewide. Chambers of commerce in Erie, Hazleton, Lancaster, Stroudsburg and Schuylkill County followed suit by recommending PP&L EnergyPlus to their members.
  • The Graphic Arts Association, a Philadelphia-based group, selected PP&L EnergyPlus as the preferred electricity supplier for its 300-plus members in the printing industry.

PP&L EnergyPlus is part of the PP&L Resources family of companies.
