PFG President Named as PP&L Resources Senior Vice President

PP&L Resources, Inc., has named Terry H. Hunt as senior vice president-Strategic Planning for PP&L Resources and PP&L, Inc., effective Oct. 1. Hunt currently is serving as president and chief executive officer of Penn Fuel Gas, which was recently acquired by PP&L Resources.

"One of the key changes that we see in the energy business is the convergence of electricity and natural gas. Terry brings to us a wealth of experience in the natural gas and oil industries that will be invaluable to PP&L Resources as we continue our efforts to expand the company and grow value for our shareowners," said William F. Hecht, PP&L Resources chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Hunt will become a member of PP&L, Inc.'s senior management team and a member of PP&L Resources' Corporate Leadership Council.

Hecht said that Hunt will continue to serve as president of Penn Fuel Gas and will remain a member of the Penn Fuel Gas board of directors.

"In this new position, Terry will be focusing on PP&L Resources' strategic expansion into new businesses and new regions," said Hecht. "The past few years have brought sweeping changes to the U.S. electricity business. PP&L Resources has been at the leading edge of these changes, supporting more competition and expanding its business, both in terms of business lines and geographic reach. In addition to one of the Northeast's leading electric utilities, PP&L Resources' companies and investments now include Penn Fuel Gas, ownership of distribution and generation facilities around the world through PP&L Global, Inc., and two heating, ventilating and air-conditioning companies. Terry will continue PP&L Resources' efforts to identify and pursue additional opportunities for growth in shareowner value."

Hunt has served as president and chief executive officer of Penn Fuel Gas, headquartered in Oxford, Pa., since 1992. Before coming to Penn Fuel Gas, he was chairman and president of Carnegie Natural Gas Company and Apollo Gas Company in Pittsburgh for four years. Early in his career, he worked in a number of positions with Altantic Richfield of Canada and ARCO before serving as vice president for project development of Delhi Gas Pipeline Corp. in Dallas, Texas.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and an MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
