Dicciani Resigns as PP&L Resources Director

Citing increasing business demands and a relocation to Europe, Nance K. Dicciani, Ph.D., is resigning from the PP&L Resources board of directors, effective Dec. 31.

"Nance has been an important contributor to the PP&L Resources board of directors over the five years that she has served," said William F. Hecht, PP&L Resources chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Among her many contributions to the company, she has ably served as the chairperson of the Nuclear Oversight Committee of the PP&L, Inc., board for the past several years. Nance's business insights and senior management experience have been invaluable as we have repositioned PP&L Resources for a more competitive electricity marketplace and expanded overseas through our PP&L Global subsidiary. While we understand her need to step down at this time, we accept her resignation with deep regret, and we wish her continued professional success."

Dicciani, an executive with Rohm and Haas Co., Philadelphia, recently was promoted to senior vice president, business group director, chemical specialties and director for the company's European region. In connection with her new position, Dicciani will relocate to Paris.

In her letter of resignation, Dicciani praised the PP&L Resources leadership team, predicting that the company "will emerge as a premier company with a broad geographic reach."

With Dicciani's resignation, there are now nine members of the PP&L Resources board. She also resigned as a member of the board of PP&L, Inc., PP&L Resources' major subsidiary.
