Thousands of businesses across Pennsylvania will benefit from an agreement announced Tuesday (9/8) by PP&LEnergyPlus and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry's PCI Services, Inc.

The agreement provides businesses with attractive pricing on their electricity purchase through the collective buying clout of the Pennsylvania Chamber's 5,800 members -- including a price guarantee and an annual rebate on their electric bill.

"We reviewed proposals from major energy suppliers," said Gregg Robertson, Pennsylvania chamber vice president, finance and administration. "PP&L EnergyPlus is an excellent choice to supply our member businesses with electricity. Our members can take advantage of significant savings while choosing a Pennsylvania company. PP&L, Inc. has nearly 80 years of experience in serving Pennsylvania businesses."

"This is a natural partnership for PP&L EnergyPlus," said Frank Long, executive vice president and chief operating officer of PP&L,Inc., the parent company of PP&L EnergyPlus. "We have always worked closely with business to improve competitiveness and grow the state's economic base.

"PP&L EnergyPlus already is offering extremely competitive prices to businesses of all sizes," Long said. "This partnership -- on the heels of a successful pilot program with the chamber that began lastyear -- will give many businesses an even better deal on their electricity purchases."

The chamber will market the program to its member businesses, and the program will be available in most areas. PP&L EnergyPlus and the chamberwill work to extend the program to thousands of additional businesses that may benefit if their local chambers decide to join with the state chamber for the program.

Discounts on energy products and services might also be part of the programin the future, Long said.

Chamber members will receive more details shortly, including information on how to choose PP&L EnergyPlus.

PP&L EnergyPlus is not the same company as PP&L, Inc., the electric distribution company. PP&L EnergyPlus prices are not regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. You do not have to buy electricity or other products from PP&L EnergyPlus to receive the same quality service from PP&L, Inc.
