PP&L Holtwood Land Management Program to Highlight Creatures of the Night

PP&L, Inc.'s Holtwood Land Management Office has scheduled a "Creatures of the Night" program for the public on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Kiwanis Lodge building in Lancaster County Central Park.

The event will be presented by Zoo America Wildlife Park and will begin at 7 p.m. Those attending will learn how different animals function at night and will see live specimens including a tarantula, owls and bats.

Admission is $2 per person over the age of 6. Advance registration is required; for more information, send an e-mail or call the Holtwood Land Management office at (717)284-6274.

The Holtwood Land Management office is located at 9 New Village Road in Martic Township. From York, take Route 74 South and turn left onto Route 372 East. Continue across the Susquehanna River. Turn left onto River Road. Turn left onto Old Holtwood Road. Turn left onto New Village Road; the office is on the right and the Holtwood Education Center is on the left. From Lancaster, take Route 372 West. Turn right onto River Road. Turn left onto Old Holtwood Road. Turn left onto New Village Road; the office is on the right and the Holtwood Education Center is on the left. The Holtwood and Lake Aldred recreation area is operated by PP&L in conjunction with the Holtwood power plant on the Susquehanna River.
