Winners of PP&L, Inc.'s Safety Poster Contest Announced

PP&L, Inc. has selected 34 winners from among 8,247 entries in its 1998 Electrical Safety Poster Contest for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

For this year's contest, students throughout PP&L, Inc.'s service area were invited to create artwork around the theme "The Ins and Outs of Electrical Safety." They could use crayons, pencils, paints or computer-generated graphics.

PP&L, Inc.'s electrical safety poster contest has attracted thousands of educators and tens of thousands of students during its 13-year history. Prizes in the competition are five shares of PP&L Resources, Inc., stock for grand-prize winners, two shares for first place and one share for honorable mention.

The 12 grand-prize posters will be featured on PP&L, Inc.'s 1999 electrical safety poster calendar that is distributed to all participating schools. Teachers of grand-prize winners will receive $50 from PP&L, Inc., for instructional materials and supplies. And, all teachers will receive PP&L, Inc.'s Electrical Safety Wheel, which they can use as a teaching tool to address electrical safety this year and in future school years.
