PP&L Resources, Inc. (NYSE: PPL) will hold its annual meeting of shareowners in Bethlehem Friday (4/24). As many as 1,000 shareowners are expected to attend the meeting, which begins at 1:30 p.m. at Lehigh University's Stabler Arena in Lower Saucon Township, near Bethlehem, Pa.
Shareowners, casting ballots either in person or by proxy, are being asked to re-elect directors and ratify the appointment of an independent accountant.
About 167 million shares of common stock, which are held by nearly 175,000 individuals and institutions, are eligible for voting.
William F. Hecht, chairman, president and chief executive officer, will preside over the session. A question-and-answer period for shareowners will follow the formal portion of the meeting.
PP&L Resources is the parent company of PP&L,Inc. , which provides electricity delivery service to 1.2 million customers in Pennsylvania; generates electricity; sells retail electricity throughout the state of Pennsylvania; and markets wholesale electricity in 22 statesand Canada.
