PP&L Plans Night Work on Power Line in Carbon County

PP&L crews will work through the night on Wednesday (7/30) to replace a section of a power line in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

No customers will have their power interrupted because of the work, which will begin at 8 p.m., weather permitting, said Martha M. Herron, PP&L community development director for the Hazleton area.

The job should be completed Thursday morning (7/31). The power line work will help improve service reliability in eastern Carbon County.

To complete the work, PP&L is bringing three spotlight trailers to light the job site in the Towamensing Trails development off Route 903.The spotlights will be tested Monday (7/28) or Tuesday (7/29) evening to determine the best location for them.

"We have planned the job to keep inconveniences for Towamensing Trails residents at a minimum," Herron said. "The improvements will help us better serve residents in this fast-growing area."

In the event of bad weather on Wednesday, PP&L will postpone the job until the next night.
