Hundreds of major electricity buyers around Pennsylvania — including businesses, factories, hospitals and schools — have chosen PP&L EnergyPlus as their preferred energy supplier.
The money these customers are saving on their electric bills will make them more competitive, and will help spur economic development and job creation throughout the state.
"Customer choice is a powerful engine that will drive economic development," said John Sipics, vice president for PP&L EnergyPlus.
"It's well documented that lower electricity prices attract new business and help existing ones grow. That creates new jobs for people in Pennsylvania."
Major companies that chose PP&L EnergyPlus for its low rates and excellent service during the customer choice pilot program include:
- Jefferson Health System, Philadelphia.
- Jeddo Coal Co., Wilkes-Barre.
- The Bon-Ton department stores, based in York.
- The Patriot-News Co., Harrisburg.
- Primus Technologies, Inc., Williamsport.
- Lutron Electronics, Inc., Allentown.
- Tyson Foods, Inc., New Holland.
"We are saving a significant amount of money on our electric bill," said James Pagnotti, president of Jeddo Coal Co., Wilkes-Barre.
"There were other out-of-state energy companies offering a lower price, but choosing PP&L EnergyPlus has paid off for us. I appreciate the excellent service and personal attention my business has received."
Kevin Flemming, corporate services manager at The Bon-Ton department stores, agrees. "I would recommend the superior product quality and services of PP&L EnergyPlus to any company looking for energy management while improving bottom line performance," he said.
"We are happy that these sophisticated electricity buyers recognize the value that PP&L EnergyPlus brings to the table," said Sipics.
"We offer all of our customers a lot more than electricity," Sipics said. "Our consulting, energy management services and many other extras are designed to help make business and other major customers more competitive."
Sipics noted that PP&L EnergyPlus is fully committed to customer choice for the long term. Some other energy suppliers have dropped out of the pilot for the second round.
During the second round of the customer choice pilot program, many additional businesses and other major customers are eligible to choose their electricity supplier. For information, call the PP&L EnergyPlus business center at 1-888-460-PLUS (888)-460-7587.
