Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. will announce the recipients of 1997 Community Partnership Program grants in northeastern Pennsylvania at a news conference on Thursday (8/7) at 2:30 p.m. in Scranton.

Frank A. Long, PP&L executive vice president and chief operating officer, will make the announcement. PP&L is contributing $3 million to neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing and small business development projects across its 29-county service area, including $600,000 for projects in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Long will be joined at the news conference by Scranton Mayor Jim Connors; John Cosgrove, executive director of Neighborhood Housing of Scranton; and Micah Gursky, executive director of the Tamaqua 2004 Partnership. Each will make brief remarks on how PP&L's grant program has helped the community.
