Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. will reduce the water level of Lake Wallenpaupack in September and October to perform maintenance on the power plant and dam.
PP&L said the water level will be lowered to 1,178 feet, 1 foot below normal, by Oct. 1. Normal boating and other recreational activities should not be affected during the month of September, said David L. Lamberton, Lake Wallenpaupack project manager.
The elevation will be dropped to 1,174 feet by Oct. 18, the company said.
PP&L has notified local marina owners of its plans to reduce the water level, said Lamberton.
