If you are forced to evacuate your home as the result of the flooding in the Wyoming Valley area, Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. offers this advice on what to do with electrical equipment before leaving your residence:

-- If the area around your circuit breaker or fuse box is dry, turn off the mail circuit before evacuating.

-- If you cannot safely get to your circuit breaker or fuse box, turn off and unplug any appliances that you can.

-- If possible, move small electric appliances to upper floors of your home.
