Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. servicemen sent to disconnect service for nonpayment will no longer accept payment at the time of the disconnect, starting June 3.
Customers must make payment to PP&L prior to the disconnect date and show proof of payment to the servicemen to avoid service termination.
"The change is being made to reduce the costs to our customers who pay their bills on time each month, as well as protect the safety of our service people," said Robert H. Ballard, manager-Revenue Collection. "The change fully complies with Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regulations."
PP&L offers many convenient methods for payment of electric bills. Customers can call PP&L toll free at 1-800-DIAL PPL for more information.
