PP&L Resources Inc. now has a "home page" on the Internet, making information about the company available to computer users worldwide.

Many companies — but only a handful of electric utilities — have a presence on the Internet, an international network of computers that may be the fastest-growing information source in the world.

"PP&L has a strong tradition of providing information about the company to customers, shareowners and others who are interested," said Jim Marsh, PP&L's director of Corporate Communications. "Now, we're taking advantage of the latest technology to extend this tradition to the World Wide Web of the Internet," he said.

"We're taking steps to build shareowner value and become more competitive; we're branching out into non-traditional business lines, and we have an excellent operating and environmental record," Marsh said. "We're anxious to share these messages through the Internet."

The home page initially includes basic company information, news releases and a message from PP&L Resources Chairman Bill Hecht. There are plans to expand the home page to include additional information.
