PPL reports solid first-quarter 2009 earnings

PPL Corporation on May 1 reported a slight decline in first-quarter earnings for 2009, compared with the same quarter of 2008. PPL’s reported earnings in the most recent quarter were $0.64 per share, compared with $0.69 per share a year ago. Excluding special items, PPL’s earnings from ongoing operations for the quarter were $0.60 per share, compared with $0.61 per share a year ago. >> read more
