PPL Reports Third-Quarter Earnings

PPL on Nov. 4 reported declines in both third-quarter and nine-month earnings for 2008, compared with the same periods of 2007. Contributing to the declines were lower wholesale electricity margins, partially offset by improved earnings from PPL’s electricity delivery business in the United Kingdom.
