Wildlife Management Trail
Montour Preserve offers an interpretive booklet for the Wildlife Management Trail that highlights wildlife management practices and how they benefit the environment. The trail, three-quarters of a mile long, meanders through 22 acres of field and forest, past several ponds and a butterfly garden. There are plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing along the way. The walk takes about 40 minutes to complete at a leisurely pace.
PPL works closely with conservation agencies such as the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, the Natural Resource Conservation Service and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry in implementing its multiple-use land management program. Many of the techniques and layout of the Wildlife Management Trail were a result of that cooperative effort.
