Fishing

Lake fish include small- and large-mouth bass, rock bass, walleye, muskellunge, pickerel, rainbow trout, brown trout and yellow perch. Striped bass have been stocked in the lake.

There's mountain stream fishing in both the Wallenpaupack Creek and the Lackawaxen River. These waterways are stocked by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. SAFETY NOTE: When on the Lackawaxen River, watch for sudden rises in the water level that occur when water is released periodically from the hydroelectric plant. For a schedule of generation activity and current lake elevations, call the Lake Wallenpaupack Information Line at 1-800-807-2474 or click here for the Lake Wallenpaupack Hydroelectric Station.
