Directions

PPL's Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center

From Interstate 81 North or South
Take Interstate 81 to Interstate 84 east. Take I-84 to Exit 8 (Mount Cobb/Hamlin). Make a left at the end of the exit ramp. Go to traffic signal and make a right onto Route 348 east. Follow Route 348 about three miles to the end. Make a left onto Route 590 east at the stop sign by Shaffer's Hardware. Follow Route 590 for about 15 miles to U.S. Route 6. Make a right at the stop signal onto Route 6 east, go over the four-lane concrete bridge and make the first right onto PPL Drive, the paved road for the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center.

From Allentown area
Take U.S. Route 22 east to Route 33 north and then Route 209 north and Interstate 80 east to Exit 309 (Marshalls Creek). Follow Route 209 north to third traffic signal. Turn right, follow the next signal just ahead and turn left. Make first right onto Route 402 north. Take Route 402 to the end. Make left onto U.S. Route 6. Travel about two miles. Pass the Wallenpaupack Area High School on your left. Make the next left onto PPL Drive, the paved road for the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center.

Ledgedale Natural Area

From Route 590
Turn onto Everly Road (make right if coming from Hamlin, make left if coming from Hawley – Pranzo's Auto Service will be across the street). Follow straight until you come to Goose Pond Rd. Continue straight through stop sign onto Saint Mary Church Road. Follow road to end and make left at the stop sign onto Ledgedale Road. At the next intersection, Indian Rocks development will be on your right, make left and go over Ledgedale Bridge. Make first right onto Kuhn Hill Road. Follow road up hill for one half mile and the small parking area for Ledgedale Natural Area will be on your left.

From Route 507
Turn onto Ledgedale Road (make left if coming from Route 84 direction – Exit 20, make right if coming from Route 6 Hawley direction). Follow Ledgedale Road for 1.5 miles until you reach the Ledgedale Campground/Recreation Area. Right before the Ledgedale Bridge, take left onto Kuhn Hill Road. Follow road up hill for one half mile and to the small parking area for Ledgedale Natural Area will be on your left.

Shuman Point Natural Area and Beech House Creek

From Route 6
Follow Route 6 (East if coming from town of Hawley, West if coming from Milford area) to Route 590. Follow Route 590 West for approximately 2 miles. You will pass a restaurant named Crazy Fingers on your right. The entrance to Shuman Point Natural Area will be your next left. The 60 acre Beech House Creek Wildlife Refuge is just ahead on Route 590 on the right. Very limited parking (enough for about 2-3 vehicles) is available just off of Route 6 near the small Verizon building.

From Hamlin Area
From the Hamlin four corners (intersection of Routes 590 and 191), follow Route 590 East for approximately 12 miles. You will pass Lakeshore Drive on your right and then Beech House Creek Wildlife Refuge on your left. The entrance to Shuman Point Natural Area will be your next right.
