Worker Training

PPL provides training in business ethics, compliance, safety and technical requirements, as well as lifelong learning opportunities for its employees.

New employees receive training on PPL's Standards of Conduct and Integrity, which is followed up by periodic refresher courses for all employees. Employees also are required to complete training addressing key compliance risk areas pertinent to their job function.

Similarly, PPL also offers technical training that is suited to the requirements of specific jobs. Many positions have defined safety and technical training requirements.

To support lifelong learning, PPL offers to employees of some affiliate companies a program that provides tuition reimbursement for courses of study related to their present jobs or future career objectives with PPL.

PPL provides outplacement services to management employees who leave the company under qualifying conditions. These career services help employees with skills they need as they re-enter the job market.

PPL has multiple systems that track training and has developed an integrated system. Training records include course topics, attendees, completion status, time engaged in training and training costs. A policy and process to track external training was put in place in 2007.
