Human Rights

Employee Concerns Policy
PPL is committed to eliminating improper practices and creating an environment based on honesty, compliance with laws and regulations, and operational excellence. All employees with concerns or grievances may bring them to the attention of their supervisors or any manager in the area involved. Employees also may address concerns to the Business Ethics and Compliance office.

All PPL employees have a right to report workplace concerns directly to regulatory agencies. PPL will not interfere with those rights, nor will it retaliate against employees for reporting, testifying, assisting or participating in investigations or proceedings regarding workplace concerns.

Addressing Needs of Indigenous People
PPL has developed strong relationships with indigenous people who live near company facilities in Montana and Maine. Agreements developed over the years reflect an understanding of PPL's business needs and the culture and heritage of indigenous people.

PPL provides scholarships, training and job opportunities for members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe who live near the company's Colstrip power plant in Montana. An air-quality monitoring program has been established with the Northern Cheyenne. PPL also provides funds to promote cultural exchanges and community relations between the tribe and the company.

In Maine, PPL projects with the Penobscot Indian Nation include protection of fishery resources, recreational opportunities, erosion control and protection of historical and archeological artifacts. PPL has entered into an agreement with the Penobscot Nation to improve access to more than 500 miles of river habitat for Atlantic salmon and other migratory fish.

Compliance with Laws Governing Child Labor and Forced Labor
PPL's Standards of Conduct and Integrity mandates compliance with laws and regulations affecting our jobs. This includes compliance with all applicable labor laws in the countries where we do business.
