PPL Standards of Conduct and Integrity
The Standards of Integrity provides guidelines for the way in which PPL Corporation and its subsidiaries for which it has operating control expect employees to conduct business. Adherence to PPL's Standards means behaving in law-abiding and ethical ways in all business activities and relationships. Several commitments are basic to our standards. Among these commitments, which affect both the company and its many stakeholders, are the following:

Our commitment to safety: We place a high priority on the safety of our people and the public. No job we do or service we perform is so urgent that we cannot take the proper time and use the necessary equipment and procedures to do it safely.

A corporate director of Business Ethics and Compliance oversees the implementation of PPL's business ethics and compliance program for U.S. and international operations. All employees worldwide complete training and periodic refresher courses on PPL's Standards of Conduct and Integrity.

EthicsHelpline
PPL's EthicsHelpline provides 24-hour telephone and e-mail service for business ethics and compliance assistance, including:

  • Clarification of ethics and compliance questions.
  • Reporting suspected misconduct, violations of law or violations of PPL’s standards.
  • Assistance with employee concerns.

PPL's EthicsHelpline is administered by PPL's Business Ethics and Compliance Office. Anonymous contacts may be made using the telephone service, in writing to PPL's director-Business Ethics and Compliance, or by e-mail using the company's internal Web system.

PPL Safety Policy
The safety of our people is a major corporate priority. No job we do or service we provide is so urgent that we cannot take the time and use the necessary equipment to do it safely.

It is the responsibility of the line organization and each of its supervisors to provide the leadership, the direction and the equipment to accomplish the job safely and efficiently. Each employee must assume responsibility for his or her own actions consistent with established safety rules.

It is the safety organization's responsibility to inform and assist line management in the development and implementation of appropriate safety programs.

Supervisors and non-supervisors must be committed to personal safety, the safety of people we work with and the safety of the public we serve.

PPL Environmental Policy
PPL conducts its business in an environmentally responsible manner.

Laws Concerning Bribery of Foreign Officials
PPL policy and the laws of many countries in which PPL does business prohibit employees, agents or any PPL subsidiary company from giving or offering to give money or anything of value to a foreign government official, a foreign political party, party official, candidate for political office or an official of certain international organizations, such as the United Nations, for the purpose of influencing any act or decision of that official; obtaining, retaining or directing business to any person, or securing any improper advantage. Operational Risk Management
Operational risk management is an important part of PPL's disciplined and consistent way of measuring, monitoring and managing its operation.

Through sophisticated quantitative analysis, PPL determines which risks are appropriate and which opportunities provide the best long-term benefits. PPL uses this analysis for a range of issues.

Employee Performance Assessment
PPL Corporation assesses the performance of management and supervisory employees annually on factors that include safety, diversity/respect for others and business ethics. PPL expects employees worldwide to exemplify, promote and practice these attributes.
