PPL is a leader in transforming former manufactured gas plants, retired substations, old service centers and former power plants into new business opportunities.

Under Pennsylvania’s progressive Land Recycling Law, we’ve sold 40 former industrial properties for reuse. In one example, a former electricity distribution building in Hershey, Pa., is today the site of a 110-bed Hampton Inn and Suites. This creative and beneficial reuse of former industrial sites is the result of forward-looking legislation and an agreement between PPL and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
