PPL to Help Clear Section of Martins Creek
PPL will partner with the Martins Jacoby Watershed Association and Lower Mount Bethel Township on Saturday, April 21 to clean up a logjam blocking Martins Creek.
The logjam and debris have diverted the flow of the creek, eroding soil and causing other trees to fall. Volunteers will be working to return the stream to its normal flow.
Community volunteers are welcome. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old and be physically able to help clean up woody debris.
The cleanup will begin at 8:30 a.m. and finish by noon. Registration is required. To register or get directions, contact John Mauser at 610-498-2126.
Registered volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Palmeri Funeral Home on Route 611.
Bring work gloves and wear footgear appropriate for the weather and muddy conditions. Volunteers with chest waders and hip boots are encouraged to bring them along.
The cleanup will be held rain or shine. Lunch will be provided.
