David G. DeCampli
President
PPL Electric Utilities

David G. DeCampli is president of PPL Electric Utilities, the PPL subsidiary that delivers electricity to about 1.4 million customers in 29 counties of Pennsylvania. Under his leadership, PPL Electric Utilities launched its e-power campaign to educate customers about their energy use and give them tools to reduce their electricity consumption and save money.
He assumed his current position in April 2007 after serving as PPL Electric Utilities’ senior vice president of Transmission and Distribution Engineering and Operations since December 2006.
Previously, DeCampli was vice president of Asset Management for Exelon Energy Delivery. In that position, he was responsible for system capacity planning and reliability and operational performance investment strategies for both PECO Energy in Philadelphia and Commonwealth Edison in Chicago.
DeCampli started his career at PECO Energy as a project engineer and held a number of positions of increased responsibility before being named director of Customer Service and Business Process Reengineering in 1992. He was named director of Transmission and Substations in 1993 and director of Engineering and System planning three years later. He was then named vice president of Gas and Electric Operations in 1999.
After PECO’s merger with Commonwealth Edison in 2000, he became vice president of Merger Implementation and Operations Strategy. He later served as vice president of Regional Operations for Commonwealth Edison and vice president and chief integration officer for Exelon Energy Delivery.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and a master’s degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. DeCampli is a member of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies Power Delivery Committee and serves on the board of directors of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania. In addition, he serves on the board of trustees and the executive committee of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital in Allentown, Pa.
